Devotional from Pastor Tim Chalas
The religious mindset often insists that God is relying on us, our obedience, our devotion, and our consistency to accomplish His purposes. But grace tells a far more freeing story: God is not codependent on anyone. He is not short-staffed. He is not lacking anything. He is perfectly complete and self-sufficient. The truth is God doesn’t need you; He desires you.
Let’s be honest — trying to “measure up” is exhausting. But grace says take a breath. You’re not performing for God’s acceptance. You’re living from it. Your worth isn’t tied to how much you do for God or how “good” you can be. It’s anchored in what He’s already done for you — not as a payment but as a gift.
You’re not just an employee in God’s business plan. You’re family. Deeply loved, fully welcomed, already enough.
So now we walk, not driven by guilt or fear, but drawn by love. We serve, not to prove our worth, but because we are already fully worthy in Christ. That is not laziness, it is liberty. It is the freedom of knowing your relationship with God is not fickle or fragile, but firmly rooted in His finished work.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.
