Many believe that experiencing God’s peace means having a life free from trouble. But the peace of God isn’t the absence of difficulties—it’s confidence in His presence, no matter what the difficulty. Thinking that peace is the result of perfect circumstances, seduces us into trying to control life, putting us at the mercy of the next unexpected problem. Peace is our possession, not our pursuit, as the peace of God comes from knowing that we already have peace with God.
Romans 5:1 declares, “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” This peace is not earned, nor is it lost when life gets hard. It’s not a feeling, it’s a fact! Philippians 4:6-7 assures us that when we bring our concerns to God, His peace will guard our hearts and minds—not because our circumstances change, but because He is our peace in every circumstance.
Are you experiencing the peace of God? Remember that peace isn’t tied to your circumstances—it’s anchored in His truth.
Romans 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
